The 2014 SheShan Emmy ‘Children’s Dream Charity Auction’ was held on the afternoon of August 30th. Every little drops of kindness and warmth from the society, eventually merged into a huge bundle of love. This charity auction raised RMB7000 in cash, and was donated to the ‘United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund’ (UNICEF).
In the ballroom of the Emmy Hotel in SheShan, our ‘little philanthropist’ from artspire offered their best pieces for auction, hoped to contribute in any ways possible toward the charity.
Each of our students received numbered blue-hearted chip at the check-in desk, each correspond with the item they put in for auction. Meanwhile, staff labeled the art piece, and everything was set to go.
Before the start of the auction, our students painted a colorful tree with their own hands, hoping that is tree of love and what it present will eventually spread across all corners of the word. This act reflects the motto of this charity auction – ‘Paint for Dream, Paint for World’.
The auction officially started at 14:30. The host invited each of our little artists up to the stage, and introduced the art pieces they have donated. Our students talked about their creations with such grace and confidence, they mentioned the color compositions used and what they were trying to express, lastly what they all did was expressing their full-hearted wish: which was hoping everyone present to participate in the auction, and help the less fortunate children who are really in need.
Soon as our host explained the rules of engagement, participants of the auction raised their auction cards to bid for the art works, atmosphere was electric. Everybody hoped to contribute toward this cause, and on top of that, our artists’ works were exceptional, even praised by experts at the event. Two hours went by, every art piece at the auction was sold for many, even ten times the starting value.
Some of art works from our little artist were sold at a high price:
Zhao Qi Zhe
‘The Inverted Man’ for RMB180; ‘The Dull Wool Sheep’ for RMB310; ‘Harvest’ for RMB410
Alesaandro
‘Hayrick’ for RMB300
Luo Yan Zhe
‘Butterfly’ for RMB380
A big thank you to all our little artists for their warm participation, and we look forward to have others join our family in the near future.
